Samba Digital achieved a turnover of €2,505 K in the first half of 2023, up 27% compared to the same period last year. Organic growth expressed at constant exchange rates is even higher at +32%, due to the appreciation of the euro against the US dollar.

Good orientation of French-speaking areas and in US territories
Over the period, Samba Digital continued its commercial efforts to deploy its services in its key markets, with a strong focus on innovation and geographic expansion. The first half of 2023 benefited from a good dynamic in the French-speaking and American territories. In  particular, Samba Digital began work in the first half of 2023 with the organizers of the Rugby World Cup and the National Basketball League in France. The company has also expanded its customer base in football clubs with the signing, among other names, of two new contracts: West Ham (UK) and Inter Miami CF (USA).

Thanks to the performance already achieved in the first part of the year, and to a good level of backlog, Samba Digital reaffirms its confidence in achieving a turnover of €5.9 million, representing an increase of more than 50%.

2022 FINAL RESULTS

2022 Sales: +37% – 2022 net profit: +56%

Confirmation of 2023 annual turnover target at €5.9M

The final 2022 accounts, audited by the Statutory Auditors and published on 28 April 2023 with the CMVM (Lisbon Stock Exchange regulatory authority), are as follows:

These results are slightly better than those published on 28 February as a provisional result, due to the required use by the company’s auditors of the average EUR/USD 2022 exchange rate for the income statement items instead of the closing 2022 rate.

Acceleration of commercial momentum in 2023 Q1 

In the first quarter of 2023, Samba Digital’s business continued to grow strongly with a 35% increase in revenues over the period to €1.23M, confirming the forecast of annual revenues for 2023 of around €5,9M

2022 RESULTS

4th consecutive year of revenue and earnings growth

Lisbon (Portugal) – February 28, 2023 – 6 p.m.: Samba Digital, a global player in sports marketing, has posted strong growth results for the fourth consecutive year since its creation in 2018.

The 2022 financial statements approved by the Board of Directors of Samba Digital SGPS (Portugal) listed on Euronext Lisbon (ISIN PTDGL0AM0003, Mnemonic MLSMB) are as follows:

For the 2022 fiscal year, these include the consolidation of the accounts of the 100% subsidiary Samba Digital Inc. as well as the costs specific to the Portuguese parent company since its creation in 2022. By way of comparison, the 2021 figures include the financial items of Samba Digital Inc. converted into euros. The variation indicates growth in published data and growth in dollars excluding currency effects.

Final and audited accounts will be available by April 15, 2023.

Continued commercial momentum

In 2022, Samba Digital continued its growth trajectory with the growth of the American market and the good orientation of activity in French-speaking Europe. The breakdown by geographical area is as follows:

The 2022 activity was notably driven by the successful launch of the Sports Translate platform (integrated from 2023 in the Talentisi platform) and the development of the commercial offer to the USA with emblematic signatures, such as Soccer United Marketing, US Open, Kansas City Chief …

Operating income was €860 K, up 50% on 2021. Thanks to a 100% outsourced model, Samba Digital takes advantage of a favourable volume effect allowing it to absorb its fixed costs in better conditions.

Net income was up similarly by 48% to €664 K, showing a net margin of 17.3% up 1.4 percentage points on 2021

Strong financial structure

Given its history of regular profitability, the group benefits from a very healthy financial structure and without debt. At 31/12/2022, active cash amounted to €773 K ($828 K on the books of the US subsidiary) and its outstanding customers at €307 K ($328 K). The development costs of the new Talentisi platform, increased to balance sheet assets amount to €492 K ($527 K).

 2023 outlook: continued profitable growth

Given the good orientation of its order book and the potential of Talentisi’s deployment, the company anticipates for 2023 a turnover of approximately €5.9 million in growth of 54% compared to 2022 and an operating margin of 25% up by more than 2.5 pts.

Financial statements as of September 30th 2022, SAMBA DIGITAL SGPS S.A.

17th consecutive quarter of business growth and profit

1 – Main figures

At constant exchange rates, the growth from September 30th 2022 to September 30th 2021 showed the following:

– an improvement in turnover of 135%.

– a growth in operating income of 140%.

– net profit growth from June 30, 2022 to June 30 2021 of 130%.

At the end of September, the company was already close to achieving the annual objectives described in the Information Document submitted to Euronext, listed above in the column “Initial 2022 forecast”.

The company was incorporated last August with a capital of €23 million from the contribution of 100% of the shares of Samba Digital Inc (USA). Once the goodwill related to this contribution is removed, the company’s net equity amounts to €1.32M compared to €1K when the US company was created in May 2018.

The company has no bank debt and, although self-financing its developments, expects to have a cash position of more than €1M as of December 31, 2022

Lisbon, 20 October 2022 – Samba Digital, which debuted on the stock market with a valuation of €23.3M, now presents its financial results for the period from June 2021 to 2022.

Financial Report through 30 June 2022


At constant exchange rates, SAMBA Digital recorded growth of:

• Invoices sent on June 30, 2022 compared to June 30, 2021: 156%

• Operating income on 30 June 2022 compared to 30 June 2021: 170%

• Net income on 30 June 2022 compared to 30 June 2021: 158%

Capital: €1.045M on 30 June 2022 versus €390k on 30 June 2021.

It should be noted that capital in 2018, from the date of creation of the company, was only $1,000 USD and the current value of €1.045M results from the incorporation of net income subject to fees and taxes.

The company has no bank debt and, despite self-financing the entirety of its operation, expects to have a net financial position at the end of the year in excess of one million euros.

Quarterly accounts ending 30 September 2022 will be published on 4 November.

However, it should be noted that the turnover on 30 September amounts to €3.311M, with the forecast that the annual target of €4.230KM will be reached and exceeded.
