Brazil: the market every global sports organization wants to win

Few countries love sport the way Brazil does. Brazilian fans are loyal, loud and hyper-connected. They follow European football as closely as their own league, adopt new sports quickly and turn every trend into a meme within hours. It’s no surprise that clubs, leagues and brands from every sport now see Brazil as a key growth market.

Brazil sits at the heart of Samba Digital’s work. Here is how we help global organizations build real communities there.

Football: local heroes and local platforms

European clubs have one major asset in Brazil: Brazilian players, past and present. Our geo-targeted content puts them at the center.

  • Chelsea FC gained 538K Brazilian followers on Instagram in 2025–26 through geo-targeted posts, plus 90K TikTok followers in two months with content built around João Pedro, Estêvão, Ramires and Thiago Silva. We also run the club’s Brazilian WhatsApp channel, now at 44K followers.
  • Olympique Lyonnais recruited 362K new Brazilian followers on Instagram with 202 geo-targeted posts.
  • The Bundesliga reached 8.7M views and 990K likes on Brazilian TikTok by celebrating Brazilian legends of the league.
  • RB Leipzig gained 143K followers between November 2025 and April 2026 with content using Brazilian trends and audio.

Being there in person

Brazilian fans reward clubs that make the trip. For Bayer 04 Leverkusen’s first-ever Brazilian preseason tour in Rio de Janeiro in July 2025, we handled activations, on-the-ground staff and coverage across the club’s Portuguese website, Instagram and WhatsApp. The 10-day tour generated more than 10M video views and a 12% engagement rate on Instagram. We also built a giant sand jersey sculpture on a Rio beach, seen by more than 10,000 beachgoers, and flew a 30-meter aerial banner along the coastline.

For RB Leipzig and Puma, we led the brand activation around the club’s 2025 Brazil tour, including a race-walking challenge with Olympic medalist Caio Bonfim and more than 8,000 fan giveaways at the Santos match.

Culture first: the Carnival effect

In Brazil, sport and culture are inseparable. During the 2025 Rio Carnival, we helped the Ligue 1 join the party with CazéTV and Bloco Brasil: on-site activations at Praia do Leme, a Ronaldinho look-alike teaser and live integrations during PSG vs Lille on CazéTV. The campaign generated 9.8M views and 306K interactions, with an engagement rate above 3%.

Beyond football

Brazil is also a growth market for other sports:

  • NFL: with NFL FLAG, we onboarded 80 new schools, trained PE coaches and engaged more than 6,000 kids. We also ran flag football clinics in São Paulo for the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers, the latter featuring Alexandre Pato.
  • NBA: we grow the Orlando Magic’s Portuguese and Spanish-speaking audience, with 10% follower growth on the Portuguese Instagram account in 2024–25.
  • Tennis: the Roland-Garros Junior Series in São Paulo generated 90.9M impressions in one week.
  • Motorsport: we produced a full-day activation with Lewis Hamilton for Puma Brasil in November 2025.

How to win in Brazil

  • Put Brazilians at the center: players, legends, creators.
  • Use the platforms Brazilians use, from Instagram and TikTok to WhatsApp.
  • Embrace the culture, from Carnival to local humor.
  • Show up in real life, because Brazilian fans remember who came.
