Thank you for joining us for another round-up of what has been happening in the sports business and digital worlds in the US and Latin America. There has been a lot to talk about, and also Brazil legend Pelé’s 80th birthday, so let’s get into it.

CONTENT PICKS OF THE WEEK

Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt celebrated Pelé’s landmark birthday with a bit of fun, remembering back to 1963 when the goalscoring legend put four past them!

With the Mexican celebration of Día de Muertos almost upon us (November 2nd), the sporting world is starting to look forward to it. Napoli and Mexico player Hirving Lozano was the lucky recipient of a pair of Nike limited edition Día de Muertos trainers… and they look great!

And for clubs in the country, kit manufacturer Charly Futbol has been creating Dia de Muertos kits for them to play in. Including this one for Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente (or Xolos for short).

For the recent ‘Dictionary Day’ in Columbia, we created this wonderful graphic with slang words via James Rodriguez and Yerry Mina. This graphic led to ‘Suanfanson’ (which means “quickly” in Columbian slang) trending on Twitter, and the country’s biggest newspaper, EL TIEMPO, creating a video to explain the origin of the word!

And finally in this part, we loved this collaboration between Major League Baseball and Twitter – printing tweets on the balls used in batting practice. A great way to keep fans connected to the players in a time when the stadiums are empty.
