Job Posting: Content Strategist UK/EU
Summary:
Samba Digital is a leading international sports marketing agency that partners with rights holders to establish and enhance their global presence across diverse regions such as LatAm, the US, Africa & MENA. We specialise in managing local content and commercial practices to engage new audiences across a wide range of sports.
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Content Strategist to join our team in the UK/EU region. You will report to the Territory Manager and work alongside a team of account & sales managers.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the digital sports and business landscape and a proven track record of success in processing data insights, creating compelling strategic approaches, and then executing them.
Responsibilities:
Sales
- Work together with the sales team to assist in new client proposals – taking responsibility for developing impactful content strategies for their target audiences and business goals
- Think creatively and productively to imagine original content that helps Samba to sit apart from our competitors
- Be able to collect and interpret data and insights in order to develop the relevant strategies
- Collaborate closely with our Data/Insight, Forca Creative Studio and Paid Media teams
- Participate in new client pitches
Account Strategy
- Be responsible for developing and producing a strategy document per client and then for supporting the delivery of this strategy.
- Develop and produce a strategy document for our territory/region – essentially a broad/generic version of the above
- Aid on KPI tracking and how we achieve these per client
- Support the Community Management team with implementing the above strategy(s) & support them with ideas when planning quarterly plans for clients
- Support onboarding of new clients from a strategy perspective
Research & Insights
- Helping identify trending themes within the football and sport industry. Do they apply to our clients, and how?
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in a content strategy role, preferably with an agency background
- Strong understanding of the digital landscape and sports business
- Experience in creating stand-out content plans and strategies
- Experience with working with data and insights and developing creative strategies from them
- Proven experience in working on agency proposals and being part of a pitch team
- Ability to work independently and in a remote working capacity
- Have an analytical mind, creativity, good organisational skills, and proactivity
- Knowledge of graphic and creative production processes
- Advanced knowledge of social media and digital platforms
- English is essential, other languages are an added advantage
Details:
- This is a remote position with the requirement to be based in the European region
- Potential travel required
- Type of contract: independent contractor agreement
- One-year contract with the possibility of renewal
Remuneration:
- Fixed annual fee based on experience
- Commission on business deals
