Mission

As the Kansas City Chiefs expanded their global fanbase, they needed to create authentic connections with Mexican fans during a pivotal season moment. The challenge? Translating the passion of GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium to the streets of Mexico City while building lasting digital relationships.

The goal: Create an immersive fan experience that captures the essence of Chiefs Kingdom, convert physical engagement into digital subscribers, and establish a memorable presence during the NFL Mexico experience.

Approach

The challenge was unprecedented: how do you recreate the magic of GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in the heart of Mexico City? The strategy we aligned on focused on creating an authentic experience with smart digital integration.

The creative concept

“THE KINGDOM HEARD AROUND THE WORLD”

The Chiefs didn’t just bring branding to Mexico, we brought the complete GEHA Field at Arrowhead experience:

  • Perfect environment recreation: Red sofa, Chiefs-themed walls, and a Stadium playlist creating total immersion
  • Emotional connection through music: GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium playlist transported fans directly to Kansas City
  • Memory creation focus: Every fan received their photo, keeping the experience with them forever
  • Cultural integration:  Launched a Mexican-Chiefs anthem contest celebrating local creativity within global fandom

Multi-Location strategy

  • The approach maximized impact through strategic location selection:

Day 1: Streets of Mexico City

    • Glorieta de Cibeles activation in high-traffic central location
    • Maximum visibility for brand presence and fan discovery

    Days 2-3: NFL Experience integration

    • Direct fan engagement during Chiefs vs. Chargers global game

Activate alongside other NFL teams during Kickoff weekend

    Experience design excellence

Every element was crafted for maximum fan engagement and digital conversion:

      • Physical immersion: Floor printed like GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, 20+ decorative elements, authentic Chiefs atmosphere
      • Digital integration: Email capture seamlessly woven into photo experience
      • Instant gratification: Photos delivered immediately while capturing newsletter subscribers

    Smart data strategy

We transformed physical engagement into lasting digital relationships:

    • Seamless capture process: Digital forms integrated naturally into photo experience
    • Quality engagement: Double opt-in process ensuring genuine subscriber interest

    Creative differentiation

Chiefs Kingdom stood out through emotional storytelling:

    Our approach:

    • Complete experience immersion with music, decor, and atmosphere
    • Cultural integration through anthem contest
    • Newsletter growth strategy built into experience

    Key takeaways

    1. Experienced design excels: Creating complete atmospheric immersion (music, decor, authentic elements) generates deeper emotional connections than standard branded backdrops.
    2. Cultural integration amplifies global brands: The Mexican Chiefs anthem contest showed how global brands can celebrate local creativity while maintaining authentic brand identity.
    3. Digital integration must feel natural: Seamlessly weaving email capture into the photo experience created value exchange that felt beneficial rather than transactional.
    4. Immediate value delivery drives conversion: Instant photo delivery while capturing subscriber information creates positive association and higher conversion rates.
    5. Multi-Location strategy maximizes reach: Strategic location selection (high-traffic public space + targeted event presence) amplified impact beyond single-venue limitations.
