Join Our Team as a Business Developer 

Are you a seasoned business development leader with a robust network in the sports industry? Are you passionate about sports, strategic thinking, and driving significant business growth? If so, we want to hear from you! 


What You’ll Do

As our Business Development Director UK, you will spearhead the identification and development of new business opportunities, oversee strategic accounts, and drive substantial revenue growth within the UK market. This role requires a visionary leader with exceptional communication skills and a profound understanding of the digital marketing landscape. You will collaborate closely with the executive team and report directly to the Head of Sales, playing a pivotal role in the success of our business development initiatives.

  • Identify and prioritize business opportunities within the UK sports industry.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive regional sales strategies to maximize revenue potential.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with leagues, federations, and clubs at the highest levels.
  • Oversee the development and management of a sales pipeline using CRM tools (e.g., Pipedrive).
  • Lead high-stakes pitch development, including RFPs, alongside internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Data & Analytics team to develop market insights and performance monitoring.
  • Present and negotiate annual retainers with clients.
  • Provide accurate financial reporting and income forecasting.
  • Represent Samba Digital at major industry events and high-level client meetings.


What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience in business development within the sports industry.
  • Extensive network and established relationships within the UK sports ecosystem.
  • Proven track record of driving significant business growth. 
  • Expertise in managing RFP proposals and building regional sales strategies. 
  • Comprehensive understanding of social media platforms and their environment.
  • Strong knowledge of data and analytics fundamentals, methodologies, and techniques.  
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. 
  • Process-driven with the ability to work efficiently within established frameworks. 
  • Proficient in using key sales tools, including CRM (Pipedrive) and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.

  • Remote working with the requirement to be UK-based. 
  • Travel as required to meet with clients and attend industry events.
  • One-year mission with an independent contractor agreement, including an option for renewal.
