Role Overview 🚀
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Account Manager USA to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the US sports landscape, with a proven track record in social media activations, especially within soccer. You will be responsible for managing key client accounts, developing creative digital strategies, and executing impactful campaigns that resonate with American sports fans. You will also serve as the market referral for European clients seeking to activate or expand their presence in the US.
Key Responsibilities ✅
1. Client Relationship Management & Growth (40%)
- Serve as the primary point of contact for US-based clients, ensuring exceptional service and satisfaction.
- Build and nurture strong, growth-based partnerships by understanding client business needs and leveraging Samba Digital’s services.
- Manage client expectations, pitch agency work, sell in fees, and translate client feedback into actionable strategies.
- Maintain detailed records of meetings, presentations, and communications.
- Ensure high client satisfaction through continuous evaluation and proactive support.
2. Social Media Activation & Campaign Delivery (30%)
- Develop and execute innovative social media activation strategies tailored to the US sports market, with a strong focus on soccer.
- Oversee the initiation and delivery of client projects, ensuring all work is on-brand and aligned with client goals.
- Coordinate with creative, content, and analytics teams to deliver engaging campaigns across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, X (Twitter), Facebook, and emerging channels.
- Monitor and track all project activities and deliverables using Asana to ensure timely execution, transparency, and accountability across teams.
- Monitor industry trends, fan behaviours, and platform updates to keep campaigns relevant and effective.
3. Market Referral & Strategic Consulting for European Clients (15%)
- Act as the market referral and subject matter expert for European clients of the agency seeking to activate or expand their presence in the US sports and soccer market.
- Provide strategic guidance, market intelligence, and local insights to help European clients achieve their objectives.
4. Business Development, Reporting & Upselling (15%)
- Identify and pursue upsell opportunities to drive incremental growth within existing accounts.
- Prepare and manage budgets to achieve set targets and objectives.
- Together with the Data & Insights team, analyse campaign performance, prepare detailed reports, and provide actionable insights to clients.
- Contribute to quarterly and yearly revenue targets and commercial objectives.
Your profile 👤
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Sports Management, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in account management, digital marketing, or social media within the sports industry.
- Demonstrable expertise in social media activations, with a portfolio of successful sports-related campaigns in the US market.
- Deep knowledge of the US sports ecosystem, fan culture, and digital trends, especially as they relate to soccer.
- Experience in customer relationship management, sales management, and upsell strategy.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a global, multicultural team.
- Experience using Asana (or similar project management tools) to monitor, track, and report on project progress and deliverables.

- Accountability & ownership: takes responsibility for outcomes, follows through on commitments, and is reliable under pressure. Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as collaboratively within global teams.
- Passion for sports & digital innovation: genuine enthusiasm for sports, especially soccer, and a curiosity for digital trends and fan engagement.
