Canal Goat: Brazil’s New Free Sports Channel

Canal Goat went live in Brazil at the end of July. Available on the main internet video platforms, Goat will offer free and original content to an audience that enjoys sports, especially football.
With a strong presence on social media platforms, Goat already has approximately 455,000 subscribers on Youtube, 50,000 followers on Instagram, 28,000 followers on Twitter and, according to data provided by Youtube, more than 6 million views in its first weeks.
By focusing on free video platforms, the channel will bring the opportunity for brands, leagues and competitions to connect with the Brazilian audience without the need for a subscription to a paid streaming service, such as Star+ (from the Disney Group) or HBO Max (Warner & Discovery).
Its portfolio, still under development, includes competitions such as the Saudi Pro League (SPL), the Copa Libertadores (for residents of some locations in Europe and Asia), Brazil’s Serie C, US National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), Argentine Cup and the Brazilian American Football League.
The channel has also hired Alexandre Salvador as its main content creator, in addition to having several international correspondents and popular digital influencers, such as Futirinhas and Carter, from Esse Dia Foi Louco (EDFL).
