FuboTV, a sports-focused streaming service based in the United States, has made headlines since obtaining the US rights to Fifa World Cup 2022 qualifying matches involving Conmebol teams. This new agreement creates a relationship with the ten South American national teams’ rights holders provides exclusive over-the-top live streaming rights to FubtoTV for the upcoming 70 qualifiers, which start in June and run until early 2022.

This new agreement entails plenty of new obligations for FuboTV. To supplement their coverage, they’ll create original material, which will include all three pre-, halftime, and post-match shows. Fans would be saddened to hear that no details about programming or on-air talent have been revealed. The game schedule for Conmebol is still in development and could change.

This exciting new service will show the games’ ultimate highlights as well as re-airing games with coverage of both English and Spanish commentary for their diverse fan base.

FuboTV’s goal, according to David Gandler, co-founder and CEO, is to have the world’s most immersive sports-first live TV experience. This goal includes premium features, interactive content, and integrated betting. This bid, which helps FuboTV hit a new high in terms of customer engagement, distinguishes FuboTV’s sports-first content offering. As a result, they will be able to produce the best of South American soccer ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

This announcement comes after the release of FuboTV’s financial results for the year 2020. This relationship is more like a celebration for the company. Sales have increased by 83% year over year to $268.8 million dollars, with nearly half of that revenue coming from the fourth quarter of 2020. The bulk of FubTV’s growth can be traced to a 73% increase in subscriber numbers from 260,000 to 547,880 subscribers.

This isn’t the streaming service’s only new venture; they’ve also recently acquired start-ups Vigtory and Balto Sports to extend their presence in the betting industry. Following the purchase of Vigtory, FuboTV announced that a sportsbook will be launched before the end of the year.
